Claim-related enquiries
WorkCover and TAC psychology support.
A clear place to check referral, claim and funding arrangements before you book an appointment. There is no gap fee for psychology sessions covered under an approved WorkCover or TAC claim.
Funding pathways
WorkCover and TAC have separate requirements.
The practice can consider enquiries related to a workplace injury or transport accident after checking the relevant referral, claim and funding arrangements. The scheme decides what it can fund.
WorkCover
WorkSafe Victoria may fund psychology services for a work-related injury or illness where its requirements are met. A medical referral is generally required before the service begins.
TAC
TAC may fund mental-health treatment connected with transport-accident injuries. A claim number and referral information help clarify the next step.
No gap for approved claims
Breathe-n-Smile does not charge a gap fee for psychology sessions covered under an approved WorkCover or TAC claim. Approval and billing arrangements are checked before an appointment is confirmed.
A practical funding check
Have the key details ready.
A short enquiry can help establish what needs to be checked. It is useful to have the claim number, referrer details, case manager or agent contact, and any approval information available.
For WorkCover and TAC, a referral from a doctor or medical practitioner may be required. The relevant scheme or agent can confirm its current requirements.
During psychology support
Care is still collaborative and clinically guided.
Understand the impact
Therapy may focus on the effects of a work-related injury or transport accident on daily life, mood, stress, sleep, relationships or confidence.
Agree on a plan
Any treatment or report work needs to be clinically appropriate and may involve coordination with relevant treating practitioners or claim contacts.
Keep funding separate
Clinical care can provide appropriate information, but WorkSafe, TAC, an insurer or another body makes its own funding and claim decisions.
