Assessment pathways
Adult ADHD, autism and AuDHD assessments.
Choose a neurodivergent-affirming assessment pathway that matches the questions you want to explore.
Assessment is collaborative and considers developmental history, current experiences, strengths, context and support needs. Appointments may be available in Essendon North, Footscray and by telehealth across Victoria.

Choose an assessment pathway
Start with the question you want answered.
The appropriate pathway depends on your questions and individual circumstances. You can ask a brief administrative question if you are not sure where to begin.
Adult ADHD assessment
For adults exploring attention, executive functioning, restlessness, motivation, emotional regulation, masking and lifelong patterns that may be associated with ADHD.
Adult autism assessment
For adults exploring autistic traits, sensory needs, communication, routines, masking, burnout and support needs.
Combined AuDHD assessment
For adults exploring overlapping autism and ADHD traits when both may be relevant to the same question.
A collaborative process
What an assessment may involve.
1. Initial question
Clarify what you want to understand and whether assessment is a suitable next step.
2. Background information
Gather available developmental, current-functioning and everyday-life information.
3. Clinical measures
Use selected interviews and questionnaires that fit the referral question.
4. Report and feedback
Review findings, recommendations and possible support-planning options.
Assessment approach
Tools inform the picture; they do not decide it alone.
Measures are selected according to the referral question, developmental history and current circumstances.
ADHD assessment tools
DIVA-5, ASRS v1.1, CAARS 2 and WURS may contribute information about attention, executive functioning and experiences across childhood and adulthood.
Autism and AuDHD tools
MIGDAS-2, ADOS-2, CAT-Q, AQ, RAADS-R and SRS-2 may contribute information about communication, sensory experiences, masking and autistic traits.
No single tool or questionnaire determines a diagnosis. Findings are considered alongside clinical interviews, developmental history, current functioning and relevant background information.
Practical information
Review fees before you enquire.
Different pathways and report options have different fees. The fees page explains current assessment and funding information.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions about assessment pathways.
How do I know which assessment fits?
Start with the question you want answered. A brief enquiry can help clarify whether ADHD, autism or a combined AuDHD pathway is the most useful starting point.
Do I need childhood documents?
Childhood information can be helpful, but not everyone has access to old reports or family input. Assessment can usually begin with the information available.
Can an assessment guarantee a diagnosis or funding?
No. Assessment provides clinical information and recommendations; NDIS, funding, medication and other organisational decisions are made separately.
Are sessions available in Cantonese or Mandarin?
Sessions may be available in English, Cantonese or Mandarin, depending on suitability and appointment availability.
A practical first step
Ask which pathway may fit.
You do not need to decide between ADHD, autism and AuDHD assessment before asking a brief administrative question.
Please share practical details only and do not include detailed clinical history.
